  1. I was doing okay until the guy walked across the skinny metal beam where the walkway had washed away.

  2. I was OK till he passed some guy, who was just standing there looking at the view… I was wondering if he was holding on to the cable? But it never moved, so I guess not…

  3. he is wearing a safety harness, look at his shadow, he is linked tot eh steel cable.

    Nice Place

    Lamar

  4. I don’t care if he is wearing a safety harness, I wouldn’t have done what he did. What about the other people you see walking? I only saw one that looked like he was wearing a harness, the others are walking around like they are on a nice city sidewalk. I can’t imagine!

  5. I couldn’t even imagine those heights, let alone walk on a narrow concrete pathway with holes in it. Wow, these people are fearless!!

  6. I thought it was really cool, but my stomach jounced around the second time I watched it.

  7. Well Ken is this the next vacation you are going on? Wow look at the pretty river 100 stories down. I cannot believe you are allowed to walk here, seems like a huge risk. I wonder if you have to sign a waiver?

  8. Who built this walkway and why? How did the workers carry and form the concrete? And how many died doing the job?

  9. Per Wikipedia:

In 1901 it was obvious that the workers of the Chorro Falls and Gaitanejo Falls needed a walkway to cross between the falls, to provide transport of materials, vigilance and maintenance of the channel. Construction of the walkway took four years; it was finished in 1905.

In 1921 the king Alfonso XIII crossed the walkway for the inauguration of the dam Conde del Guadalhorce and it became known by its present name.

The walkway has now gone many years without maintenance, and is in a highly deteriorated and dangerous state. It is one meter (3 ft) in width, and is over 700 feet (200 m) above the river. Nearly all of the path has no handrail. Some parts of the walkway have completely collapsed and have been replaced by a beam and a metallic wire on the wall. Many people have lost their lives on the walkway in recent years. After four people died in two accidents in 1999 and 2000, the local government closed the entrances. However, adventurous tourists still find their way into the walkway.

  10. Wow!!! I can’t even ride roller coasters anymore because
of the heights! I can’t imagine having the nerve to walk
    on that path!

  11. Holy COW! It’s gonna take me a WEEK to unclench my nether regions after watching that video! It’s not something I would do, personally, but I applaud those who do have that kind of fortitude.

  12. Wow would’nt that be exciting. The music was a good choice for the stroll along the edges. No way would i do it.

  13. I couldnt believe how many people were out there – literaly

  14. Thanks… come back again…
